Playing by the Rules

Some of us were not (Sommer), so it should come as no surprise to anyone that the baby's name is Henry Oliver Luther. Henry and I are patiently awaiting his departure from what we call "the vessel", so that we may go to Arizona and enjoy what may be left of baseball's spring training. I slipped Henry some tunneling tools baked in a cake last time I visited him and it is our hope that he'll be out by March 1 as to not miss a minute of baseball action. We'll keep you posted.

Sommer and Travis....Yes some of us new of the baby's name choice before the contest rules were truly met....but it is a great day when we finally can call our grandchild by name!

So to Henry Oliver Luther..may he be the boy you want him to be and love all of his grandparents with all his heart forevermore.

( I hope he loves the beach too)

Sommer and Travis...rules or no rules, I was the last (on our side) to learn that Henry Oliver Luther was, indeed, to be the NAME!...but I think it's remarkable and wonderful...and won't he be absolutely thrilled to have such a powerful name...I told your Dad, Sommer, that he sounds already as if he may have been a signer of the Declaration of Independence (or, certainly, sign something of great importance in the future!).

Now we just wait to welcome him officially...this is just soooo exciting!

    Thanks for the news Travis.

Henry Oliver Luther ? C'mon guys! it's not like you have to walk around with the name! you should have gone with something more adventurous than that...maybe "Super Dave" Luther or "Grand Poo Bah" Luther. we would have patched it up with a nickname like Bob or something anyway. oh well, maybe i will have to flip this around and affix a truly rediculous nickname to a decidedly distinguished proper name. hmm... "Slappy" sounds good, I will begin to have my baby gifts embroidered or etched where practical.

We are taking a trip to NY sometime next season, so that Ethan can see Yankee Stadium before it is gone. You should go with us. Sure, our kids will never remember it, but we can show them pictures of their drunk dads at Yankee Stadium.
